Fishing this pristine Florida waterscape can involve oyster bars, sand flats, grass flats, some open water fishing, wading for the best fishing hole, or drifting the waterways on the tide. Captains Mike Reark and Gary Peeples are specially licensed to fish in this part of Florida, which includes Everglades National Park territory.
In the photos are examples of some of the many species caught in Chokoloskee. Snook, redfish (red drum), grouper, and trout are just a few of them. Because this is a natural estuary system, sizes caught range the entire life cycle from small to giant.
